Mass Herbicide
Residents in Sydney are killing trees that block waterfront views from their property. Why? Because it increases the property value enormously. As far as it goes, I don't much care either way, especially if they're Australian trash trees. I hate those things.
But here's the stupid part, (you knew there had to be a stupid part): the city is trying to catch the tree-killers and then re-plant the trees.
Umm... why?
It's pretty obvious people don't want the trees there, so don't re-plant them. Besides, if the property value is increased, then taxable value goes up as well. Which means more revenue for the city. The city council should be out there helping residents cut the trees down.
