Junkyard

As of this morning, General Motors' and Ford Motor Company's stocks have been officially classified as junk. This despite yesterday's huge influx of private capital into GM by billionaire Kirk Kerkorian.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my congratulations to all the greedy UAW leaders over the years, as their cumulative efforts have finally slain the goose which laid the golden egg. You've successfully turned the average American automobile into an over-priced, rolling bucket of crap. In the bargain, you've also done more to destroy the credibility of labor unions than even the AFL-CIO has been able to manage. Good going, guys!

I'm sure the automobile industry workers all look forward to the years of sweatshops and corporate rule this will re-introduce, as new, non-union companies are created in an effort to compete with better-built, less expensive vehicles from overseas. Without the draconian protectionist tariffs your fat special interest lawyers have pushed through Congress over the years, those new companies will have to pay their employees reasonable wages for their "skills," instead of the hyper-inflated graft you've been passing off as "living wages" for the last three decades. Enjoy your trip into historical oblivion; I know I'll enjoy seeing your backs.
