U.N.-fit for Existence VII

In a shocker, Kofi Annan opined that "the United Nations is vital to humanity." Uh-huh, and in other, equally astounding news, the majority of long-term welfare recipients believe that staying on the dole is vital to their happiness. Likewise, people on morphine don't want to stop using it.

Sorry Kofi-baby, but the gravy train is about to de-rail. You can get a new "job" elsewhere. Or not. I don't really care, so long as you and your corrupt cronies go away. The United Nations has followed the same road as the League of Nations before it: straight into irrelevancy. I eagerly look forward to the day when that rent-free structure you inhabit in New York city is turned into something useful like an office building, which will house people who actually create wealth.

"The U.N. can be useful because it is seen as independent and impartial. If it ever came to be seen as a mere instrument or prolongation of U.S. foreign policy, it would be worthless to everyone."

Impartial my butt. If it's anything it's biased against the U.S. There is also a problem with the very statement. The U.N. is not independent. It's representatives from different countries holding forums to decide on international policy that everyone agrees to follow. The U.N. is not an independent entity in any way shape or form.

When the countries write a resolution they all agree on and then don't act on it they show that the forum has become useless.

Any group of countries can send representatives and personnel to a central location to setup relief efforts. The U.N. is not needed for this. Near the site of the disaster is usually the best place to setup shop to figure out how to help best. Like any task, try to talk it over when you can't go lay eyes on it and you're just spinning your wheels.

The same thing goes for other ventures involving multiple countries. In truth, any group of countries that get together for a common cause can be called united nations. Doesn’t mean they have everyone’s best interest at heart.

Just my little opinion.

Later,
N
