Finally something on which I agree (sort of) with a Muslim. Mind you, I think "cause of all evils" is a bit of an overstatement, but certainly it's up there with greed, jealousy, and reality television.
On second thought, reality television is a pernicious evil which stands alone in its world-destroying potential.
A village panchayat in Bihar has prohibited women from using mobile phones and imposed heavy fines on them if they violated the diktat, an official said today.
"Mobile phone is the cause of all evils in our society..."

"Mobile phone is the cause of all evils in our society..."
Blaming the evils of society on a tool is a sure sign of moral bankruptcy. Even a child should be able to understand that mobile phones, or guns or any other invention of mankind cannot be blamed for the evil that men do to one another. A cell phone sitting on a table cannot spread gossip and a gun cannot load itself, take aim and kill a person. Evil is defined as immoral behavior. A person's actions can be benevolent or evil; the tool is just a means to an end.
One of the supposed benefits of religion is that it teaches morality so that people can choose to avoid evil. Unfortunately, Islam seems to prefer to place the blame elsewhere, often with the victim. Therefore women are punished for being raped because the way they dressed "provoked" an evil response from men who are apparently not expected to have any self control. These "holy" men then go about their lives, raping and killing in the name of a religion that has utterly failed to teach them about moral behavior.
