The problem with the postal service, and government run businesses, is that have have to go through Congress and other bureaucrats to change business policy. Raise stamp prices, nope sorry, stop service on Saturday? Let us think about it. Every other step a PRIVATE industry could or would make to be competitive or to just stay solvent is controlled by someone who is basing the decision on political, not financial reasons. This is why EVERY government program costs more than they say and is overrun with waste, abuse, and fraud.
Comrade Davis, please report to the nearest repatriation center.
Hrm... Who are those guys with rifles standing around inside the Repatriation Center? And what's that smell?
