Where were you...
A tribute
I had just dropped my daughter off at school and was heading home to take a nap and get ready for work that night( I was a police officer then), when they came over the radio saying a plane had hit the WTC and then a second one into the other tower. I drove home and tried to contact my wife the whole way. She had flown into New York city that morning. For 40 minutes I was unable reach her. I finally spoke to her and she and several others were renting a car and driving back home.
The thing I remember most is that when I went to work that evening, everything was quiet the whole night. Every officer was in shock as well, and many came in even thought they had not been called in to duty.
