Misc Ramblings

Got back from DragonCon in atlanta.  I posted a little about it here.  Egg(jar)head, Davis & Churt...I think you'd all get a big kick out of it.  We should do a get together with Davis at DC in Atlanta some year for old times sake.

The FunCom guys were at the con and gave me one of their Play-for-Free-for-7-Days discs for Age of Conan.  Any of you tried it?  Is it worth it?  I don't know anyone who has played it that I'm aware of and that in and of itself makes me wary.

Ran across an interesting article about a group of actors calling themselves "Friends of Abe", or as the Washington times call them "Hollywood's Conservative Underground."  A related mention of the group can be found in a Weekly Standard article here 

Don't think I've mentioned it here, but I highly recommend reading the book "War and Decision: Inside the Pentagon at the Dawn of the War on Terrorism" by Douglas J Feith.  It is probably one of the best comprehensive treatments of the decision making process leading up the to the invasion of Iraq from an insider.   More than anything it reinforces my negative impression of the State Department crowd that I've gotten from many other sources.
