If at first you do not succeed, try, try again…

Well maybe not if the guy is holding a shotgun. Sooner or later criminals are going to learn that home invasion = death.
Her husband fired the shotgun and the man fell to the ground. Then the shot man lunged a second time.

"Well, I shot him again, and I guess that was it," Keith Hoehn said.

"Investigators say the couple were just defending their family and probably won't be charged.

"Probably won't be charged"?! They should be given a Good Citizen Award for skimming scum from the surface of the gene pool. My only regret is they didn't manage to kill both of them. That's the problem with shotguns; unless you get a solid, center-mass hit, it's difficult to get a clean kill. But a wingin' ain't bad, all things considered.

"I am not happy that someone is dead," Kellie Hoehn said. "But I am glad that my family is alive."

Save your sympathies for someone deserving of them, Kellie. Your family pet is a better person than that gutter trash you had to sweep off your front lawn. And you saved the taxpayers a great deal of wasted money and effort. Job well done; go back to raising your family and forget about that flotsam.

This is a sad event for Texas marksmenship. I mean she was in close quarters with a shotgun and was 50 percent. I think someone needs to go back to the range for some more target practice. However, I do agree with Jar(egg)head she should be given an award, maybe Texas should start handing out trophies. Big ones for kills and little ones for when you just wing em.

Reward here with half the amount it would have cost the state to try and incarcerate the scumbag, that would come out to.....$237,384.23 give or take a penny

These thugs had a shotgun pointed at this family, and the parents defended themselves to save their LIVES, and they "Probably won't be charged?" OUT F'ING RAGEOUS.

How about THEY WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR DEFENDING THEIR LIVES, AND THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN.

I like to believe that a Texan is far more likely to defend themselves in the manner described than people from other countries, err, I mean states. I truly hate reading headlines about how whole families were killed after being roped, abused, and murdered. I would rather die in battle than bound like a sheep to the slaughter, and I teach my kids that same concept.
