Yeah, he's a freak. But so what?

I'll once again revisit my prior assertion that we can't do any worse by simply appointing representatives randomly--and we may, in fact, improve things. A great many of the societal ills we are currently enduring spring from the fact that a professional political class has developed in our country. That goes against the concept of a republic.

Besides, the office of governor in Texas is a gelded political figurehead; all the real power resides in the Lieutenant Governor's office. Kinky can't really do any harm, and at least you know exactly what you're getting. I defy you to say that about anyone in Washington, D.C.
