Draft Dodger Dedication

If it's not bad enough that we have some ignorant little post-teen twit in Washington spitting on Lt. Colonel Boyington's grave, now a bunch of draft dodgers in Canada want to erect a monument to themselves:

"It could be that there is a group in the States that sees it as an opportunity to remind Americans that they are not locked into the militarism. That there is an escape valve," [stinking hippie draft dodger Issac] Romano said.

For the record, I don't agree with the draft; I believe an all-volunteer force, such as we have right now, is far preferable. I also did not agree with the way the war in Vietnam was conducted. Lyndon Johnson was a greedy, self-serving thug who used the war to line his own pockets. But all that does not excuse selfishness and cowardice, and it certainly doesn't mean such character flaws rate a memorial.

So stay up there in your "escape valve," Mr. Romano, and if you can get past your selfishness, try to remember to be thankful that better men and women than yourself insure you are free to be a sniveling coward.

I think a statue of a male and a female in front of an American firing squad would really be the appropriate monument for them!

To stop the war, start the draft. Do deferments for any reason except medical.

You will see thousands of yellow bellied so-called "patriots" who support the Iraq war running to Canada, or to the closest anti-war protest.

This is to John--you dumb ass--did it ever occur to you that you are responding with your assinine comments to gentlemen who volunteered for the armed forces during times of war--thus their outrage?

Get him Harry!
