Goose-stepping

The city of Denver, in an explosion of bureaucratic ignorance the likes of which has rarely been seen over the entire history of the United States, are rounding up and killing all the pit bulls in the city:

"There ain't no dogs in the basement!" she yells as the uniformed man and woman, responding to an informant's report of a pit bull, interrogate her. Outside, squad cars filled with police officers wait to see if they are needed.

"I'm just doing my job," the woman officer later laments.

If reading that didn't start alarm bells ringing in your head, then I fear you've failed to grasp what's happening. Because that is precisely the same line the police will use when they come to take your guns. Or your bottle of whiskey. Or your "extra" child that wasn't sanctioned by the state.

The Tenth Amendment doesn't allow for this sort of heavy-handed ignorance in State governance--and the Fourth sure as hell prohibits it. For the sake of us all, I hope the ACLU can get this into federal court very quickly.

If they can get away with outlawing a breed of dog and killing them in wholesale lots, they can outlaw pretty much anything they damned well please. Such as, oh, say... Jews.
