They were worried about a broken thermometer?!?! Make sure the kids are all wearing shoes and but a sign at the spot of the break for the janitor to clean up later. Or at the most extrem, move the kids to a diffent room. It's not freaking nerve gas. It's a heavy metal. It's not going anywhere. The biggest danger is that a kid get a little on his shoe, touches his shoe and gets a little on his hand. The quantity absorbed at that point would probably be below the permisable limit that we ingest through sea food on a given day. Silly silly silly.
They have had on the market for well over a decade, environmentally safe thermometers. Several counties and cities have held thermometer Exchange programs. So why in the hell do they still have them?
