VW OnePod
This is undoubtedly the future...
...and I'm not particularly interested in it.
Mind, the future doesn't care what I want. The over-socialized Huxley drones who are the apparent heirs of what remains of Western civilization will undoubtedly cream their androgynous pants over an autonomously controlled network of public cars. But I like driving. Specifically, I like driving really powerful cars. And motorcyles. Boats, planes, trucks, trains, go-carts... If it's got an engine and a throttle, chances are I've driven, helmed or piloted it at one time or another in my life. It's cathartic, it's challenging, and most of all it's fun. But I'm in an ever-shrinking minority in that opinion, as more and more people can't be bothered to tear themselves away from social media for long enough to accomplish any task more mechanically complex than peeing.
So bring on the robot cars. I'm thankful that I'll be dead by the time they've taken over entirely. I'm sure the future pod fillings will also be grateful for my demise.
