Call out the hazmat truck
Straight from Monty Python's Flying Circus, an emergency excrement expurgation in Exeter...
Salon ladies circulating in the general vicinity of excrement?! The horror, the horror!
I guess pulling out a water hose and washing the sidewalk down was out of the question. Much easier to call the government and complain about it...
Exeter City Council's rapid response cleansing team swung into action when a "considerable amount of excrement" was found on a Cowick Street pavement. The team were alerted to the discovery next to the First and Last bus stop on Friday by St Thomas councillor Rob Hannaford, after worried residents and businesses contacted him.
Cllr Hannaford said: "This was just horrendous; the mess was everywhere. Because of the prodigious quantity we were unsure if it was animal or human waste."
"As this is a such busy area I requested that a crew come out and action it as priority, which they did.
"It was all made much worse as the area has several well used hairdressing salons and it was very degrading for many local ladies who had come out for their regular appointments to then have to come into contact with the mess."

This is why Western society is doomed. You see, you couldn't hose it off as that would wash it into storm water and poo is bad for the environment (somehow), and well, it's just not my responsibility. This is what big government does, it removes you from civic and social responsibility. It also removes your freedoms, but as we are learning from this election, freedom scares the hell out of alot of people.
With freedom comes responsibility and with that, it means making choices, and what if you make the wrong one? Sure you can take risks and work hard and be the next Sam Walton, but what if you fail? With the Guvment taking care of everything, there is no chance of failure. You have no freedoms, but you have no real consequential responsibility. What welfare has turned into today is a program that allows people to be perpetual teenagers. It truly is Neverland. You don't have to grow up. Sleep in, have sex, drink and generally be a drain on society, because if you go get a job, you actually have to start paying in (In one of the most twisted things, the more money you earn the more you have to pay for public housing) Thus not allowing folks a way to save and escape it. (not that they would, most would just spend the extra, but this goes into my rant as to why poor people are poor)
Either way, we are reaching new generations that have been raised on big government and think, no matter how flawed, and inefficient, it is the solution to every problem.
"What welfare has turned into today is a program that allows people to be perpetual teenagers."
That's a very succinct explanation of the entire problem. Capitalists and Republicans represent your parents: get out of bed, go to school/work, don't eat too much, sweep the patio, be nice to your sister, etc. Democrats and socialists represent that cool 'uncle' who'll let you do what you want for as long as you want and always has lots of free candy laying around.
The big secret, of course, is that 'uncle' is a pedophile who will very soon now lock you in a closet and feed you bread and water for the rest of your short, miserable life while he has his way with your anus.
