Salarium Supernus

Who do you think is the most highly paid (overpaid?) athlete in history? Alex Rodriguez? Tiger Woods? Peyton Manning? Nope, not, and nada. It was a Roman charioteer named Gaius Appuleius Diocles. His adjusted career earnings came to about $15,000,000,000 -- that's billions, if you don't want to count zeroes.

Apparently horse racing in ancient Rome was much more entertaining than the modern variety. Of course, modern jockeys aren't trying to kill each other during the race. Hrm... I sense a business opportunity.
