Far, far away

The 1976 theatrical teaser for Star Wars. The movie was still in post-production at the time this trailer was made. That means the sound effects had not been finalized, John Williams was still working on the score, and they hadn't even invented the iconic font yet. Watch it quickly before Lucas the Hutt tracks down all the copies and burns them.

Not that I didn't already, but that music makes me truly appreciate John Williams talent.

I remember the original TV ad for the movie and how I had never seen anything like it before and was actually excited about getting to see it. The first time I saw it was with my cousins at the now long gone Gulfgate Theater. Takes me back.

Fabulous! However, I actually recall that trailer. Which makes my daughter's term of endearment for me, "Old Man", much more appropriate.
