The Future

A great collection of futurism images that range from dark Gothic fantasy to hard-eyed Soviet seriousness. I find this image from the 1950s very interesting:

The reason it's interesting is that it looks remarkably like the I-10/I-45 interchange immediately north of downtown Houston and Union Station. The only thing we're missing in real life is the monorail. Plans for that were scrapped back in the mid 1980s, but there's been some recent interest in reviving the concept. Sometimes futurists get it right, apparently.
