"Earned Legalization"

You know, if you Parliament of Whores in Washington are going to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants, as it looks like you will, just do it and be damned. Don't try to get all cutesy and call it something else, like this latest buzz-phrase, "earned legalization."

Don't know what that is? Here, let me help you understand. Say I don't like stop signs (I don't), and say further that I decide I'm going to begin ignoring stop signs (I haven't... yet). Over the course of several years, if I don't get killed, I'll get many tickets for running stop signs. At some point I'll end up in front of a judge. When he asks me why I run stop signs all the time, my answer is simple: earned legalization. You see, Your Honor, I've been running stop signs for so many years, it's no longer illegal for me to do so.

Makes perfect sense, yes? Of course it doesn't. It's fucking idiotic. But that's what politicians do: they take idiotic ideas and make them into policy.
