If I had to pick one song that just screams "AMERICA!" this would probably be it: At Prairie's Edge by Paul Adams. Acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle, and a big dose of the Old West. If you're an American you can't help but like this kind of music. It speaks to our blood. It wasn't by accident that Joss Whedon chose this style for the incidental music in Firefly.





Conversely, if I had to pick a song which just screams "RUSSIA!" this would definitely not be it. However, it still makes me smile. Because it's a bunch of guys (maybe gals too) in penguin suits in the Moscow subway. They're rapping and hawking (if you'll pardon the punny) soda pop. Why does that make me smile, you ask? I'll tell you why: as you're watching it, think about the frowny-faces Josef Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, et al, would be making if they saw what had become of their precious "worker paradise." The degenerate capitalist pigs (er, penguins) have won! See? Smile guaranteed.
