Grasshopper

Video of the recent successful test of the Grasshopper VTOL rocket, built by SpaceX. While not really applicable to current techniques for space travel due to fuel limitations, this is a brilliant engineering proof-of-concept. It's showing what will be practical in fifty years. Think of a steam-powered automobile of the late 19th century. For now, just enjoy the Buck Rogers vibe of watching a rocket land on a pillar of fire.

Very cool! Launched in Texas too I should note. :) Space X has plan to build a commercial space launch facility in Cameron County in southern Texas.
