Thursday Tunes
In the way of homage to Mad Builder's Miami Vice post earlier in the week, our Thursday Tunes is "Forever and Tonight" by Jan Hammer. This piece was composed for the series but never actually played on the air -- which is unfortunate, as I consider it some of Hammer's best work. The synth, heavily distorted strings, and driving percussion make it an excellent example of the '80s television theme style, but it also has a certain timeless quality to it that reminds me strongly of Tangerine Dream.

Interesting piece. I can see the Tangerine Dream connection. It is definitely of a distinctive style that, the moment you hear it, you are immediately back in the 80s. You your probably check out his website (http://www.janhammer.com/fr_home.cfm) where he has samples of some of his more recent work to listen to as well as buy some of his music directly.
