Greek to Me

Two developers for Czech software company Bohemia Interactive have been arrested by Greek authorities for spying. They were surveying the island of Lemnos for the latest edition of ARMA/VBS.

These are the same developers who worked for the United States military (and probably still do) in creating the combined arms training tool, Virtual Battlefield System. ARMA is the civilian-ized version of that software, which I've discussed here previously. I'm quite certain those two guys already know more about the Greek military than anyone except the Greeks, (and maybe them, as well).

Hey, Greece: Czech has a successful economy, (capitalist, by the way), and these two guys are working for a very successful company. You may want to ask them for tips instead of arresting them. God knows you don't need any more mouths to feed. Or were you planning on shipping them to a German jail?

For the record, I've trained with the Czech Army, and they're quite good. Now that they are no longer hampered by crappy, second-line Soviet hardware, they'd walk over Greece like a linebacker beating up on a pedophile. And Germany likes them better than they like Greece. Of course, Germany likes pretty much everyone better than they like Greece, so that's perhaps not the best comparison...

Panzers: they're not just for practice anymore.
