President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees—the Christmas Tree Tax—to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.

Its obvious what the image issue is, they should just be honest and call this the Holiday Tree Tax.

Hey, it's obviously needed. Because, as we all know, the last thing we think about buying for Christmas is a Christmas Tree. So, helping with a promotional budget is ideal work for the Federal Government.
How about a tax on taxes to pay for a marketing campaign to promote more taxes?
Oh wait.. I think they already did that.
