Recognize these guys?

HBO is running a mini-series called "Generation Kill" based off of Marine recon in Iraq. As per the rules of television broadcasting, there is a slight left lean to the story, but if you watch it, I believe you ex-Jarheads will recognize the "guys", as I had guys just like them in my unit and I'll bet you did to.

I make it a rule not to watch anything the media creates concerning the current war. It'll just piss me off. I assure you I've got more than enough stress in my life without worrying about what that bunch of pampered, protected, whiny, soft-handed, leftist children in Hollywood are honking about today.

But you are correct: Marines don't change, only the equipment changes. The Marines today are the same Marines from 20 years ago and from 200 years ago. That's the beauty of the Corps: it endures despite the best efforts of its many enemies, both foreign and domestic. It's always there to bail Americans out of trouble -- even whiny leftists. Semper Fidelis.
