The Sweet Smell of Frustration

This is amusing if nothing else. Possibly down right encouraging. The thought of these smug twits who call themselves clerics getting frustrated is very enjoyable. Especially because it comes from some guy who is throwing their own religious text in their face. I'm starting to see more and more comments from blogs and the like about Arabic people who are moving away from Islam. Lets hope for a mass migration.

I do not dislike or hate anyone based off of genetics or geography. The only people I have a problem with are those who want to change my life in a negative manner. Regardless of whether that person is a US politician or a foreign religious fanatic. This is the reason I find the cleric's discomfort enjoyable. Most of them have already stated that they want us (non-muslims) either dead or doing slave labor if we don't buy into their beliefs. Gee, what wonderful choices. I think I'll stick with choice number four, which is them dead and me happy to help.

Even their religion is fine if they can find and stick to an interpretation that gets along with the rest of the civilized world. I don't see this happening any time soon but someone is trying. If Islamic people can be persuaded that they have been duped into following a bad interpretation of their own religion it could well make the sacrifices in Iraq and Afghanistan worth it. That would make it worth the effort in and of itself.

If the trend continues, we could see a much improved world within the next 40 to 50 years. Barring complications from other sources of course. This may just be wishful thinking but at least it looks like it has a small chance of coming about. As is usually the case, only time will tell.

It really does come down to the fact that we, as westerners will not be able to change the Middle East and the Muslim world on our own. It will need to happen from inside the religion and these countries. It goes with the saying that a people have the Government ( or religion) they deserve. Socialism, and Dictatorships are for lazy people, you have to Work at a Democracy.
