Seeds of Destruction

And I thought our government wasted money

The first consignment of seeds bound for the "doomsday vault" on Svalbard has arrived in Norway. The vault is intended to act as insurance so that food production can be restarted anywhere on Earth after a regional or global catastrophe.


In the event of a global catastrophe, we will prbably not be here to go to the arctic circle and grab a handful of seeds. Not to mention Nature does just fine without our help.
