Rockbrain

Some little 17 year-old turd in Orange County, Florida was caught throwing rocks from a freeway overpass when he hit the wrong car--one containing an undercover sheriff.

Oops.

One of these vandalizing little bastards broke the window on my Supra many years ago from a rail overpass in Houston. Unfortunately, there were no exits within a mile, so there was no way I could catch it and beat some respect into it.

"I don't know if it's kids being kids, or kids being nasty and malicious," [Cmdr. Rick] Luckey said.

Oh? Let me help you, Rick: they're destructive, malicious, sociopathic punks who need a severe beating in the worst way. They're seventeen, and therefore understand the consequences of their actions quite well. The problem lies not in understanding, but with the lack of consequences thus far.

Pay attention, kiddies: Vandalism isn't funny, and graffiti isn't art--regardless of what you've seen in video games. They're crimes. Most people spend their entire lives working very hard for the nice things they own; they tend to react very poorly to vandalism. If you choose to engage in such behavior, you'd better hope the police catch you first.

I remember very well a news report from probably 10 years ago where a lady on her way to work for her first day on a new job was driving down 59 in Houston and a large rock was thrown onto the freeway from a pedestrian crossing above and it hit just right on her windshield and crashed through with enough force to go through her steering wheel top and kill her, which means she died and remains dead today because you can't save from the prior save game file and put her back in the game and throw the rock a little differently next time. I don't believe they ever caught the piece of trash that threw the rock either. It's one of those news stories where the randomness of it makes you stop and think how it could happen to anyone, even yourself, and there is no way to control that kind of a situation. The rock hits your car just right and you die.
