Is There A Draft In Here?

The draft dodger statue which was noted here a few months ago has finally found a home... sort of. They apparently had to pay somebody to display it, as it's now scheduled to appear in a private gallery.

And our old friend Issac "Running Girl" Romano returns with some more pithy commentary:

"This piece is also coming forward at a time when there is terrific militarism in the world and it's showing Americans who came out of conscience, who took another path," reunion organizer Isaac Romano said.

"The opportunity with this is for us to always remember that 35 years after the Vietnam War, there have been noted accomplishments (by the resisters) to Canadian life."

Ms. Mr. Romano then goes on to give examples of such noted accomplishments.

Oh, wait; no he doesn't. Why is that, do you think?

What I can't figure is that George McGovern is apparently scheduled to speak at a convention of these jellyfish. McGovern's opposition to the war was based upon his belief that Lyndon Johnson was a shameless war profiteer--a sentiment with which I fully agree. George McGovern was a decorated bomber pilot in World War II and later voted in favor of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution as a U.S. Senator. He didn't oppose the reasons for American involvement in Vietnam or the idea of containment; he opposed the slimeballs running the show from the White House. He most certainly isn't a coward who told his country to get stuffed when it called on him.

Stay away from these people, George. They're not worth your time.
