Big Brother Blind

Right hand, meet left hand:

The Harris County Toll Road Authority created a license plate EZ Tag for some vehicle models that have windshields with metallic content.

However, vehicles with the EZ Tags on license plates are breaking a state law because it's illegal to obscure any portion of a Texas license plate. Some Houston area toll road drivers are...being ticketed and forced to pay an $88 fine.

Ironically, it was the Harris County Toll Road Authority that helped pass that license plate law as a way to help crack down on toll road violators.

Well, that's certainly a novel method for generating additional revenue. I'm just glad I wasn't pulled over for such a bureaucratic SNAFU, as I'd undoubtedly be cooling my heels in Ye Olde Harris County Gaol right now.
