On one hand, I'm glad to see this, since many of the magnetic induction circuits at metered signal lights are not set properly, and thus do not always register motorcycles. Such a system would go a ways toward alleviating that particular problem in metered left-hand turn lanes.
On the other hand, think of all those idiots who would then have one more thing to confuse the tiny, overworked mechanical skills and coordination centers of their brains. When a few drops of rain or flakes of snow can create mass chaos on the roads, introduction of a new type of signal light could very well precipitate a 150,000,000 car pile-up.

The sign “Left turn yield on green” always worked for me but it's only posted in English so I guess that might be a problem in some areas. Not that I mind the change but I doubt it will improve the situation. Awareness and paying attention are the most effective ways to avoid accidents. Perhaps a loud horn on the approach to the intersection to wake people up would be good. Just a thought.
