Attack parrot:

A man’s macaw...had an apparent distaste for a burglar.

The bird latched on and didn’t let go. Deeter ran around the apartment trying to get the bird off his hand, after trying to pet it, police said.

A witness said she heard “slamming” and the bird screeching about 3 p.m.

Patrolman Brian C. Womer processed the scene for fingerprints. Womer said he...saw the bird perched outside the cage with numerous tail feathers missing and blood on its beak.
