Muslim Bites Dog

Ann Coulter makes an interesting point about the Syrian destruction of the Danish embassy: it's technically an act of war under the NATO accords, requiring immediate retaliation against Syria. Unfortunately, I fear that NATO has degenerated into little more than a members-only knitting club.

I am gratified, however, to see that at least one mainstream journalist has stopped referring to the enemy as "Islamist radicals" or "Islamic fundamentalists." The entire Muslim mindset is the problem, not some small spur group. Put more bluntly: It's the religion, stupid.

To say that only a small subset of "radicals" are the problem is like accusing a single tribe of creating the Mongol invasion. It was the Mongols as a whole that invaded Europe, because their entire culture was organized around the nomadic principle of plundering to attain what they wanted. It was the fiber that held their culture together, just as anti-Semitism and forced conversion are core to Islam. It's the way the religion was created; a simple perusal of their holy text will confirm this quite readily.

Hiding from realities that we find politically or socially awkward is not going to make them go away. The Muslims must learn to play nice with others. If we have to hit them over the head with a large stick until they get the message, then that's exactly what we must do. Thrusting our hands into our pockets and whistling in the dark hasn't worked--as the Europeans, much to their dismay, have discovered in recent months.

We can acknowledge the problem and start dealing with it now, or we can wait for further riots, terrorist attacks, and jihads--but eventually we will have to acknowledge the problem. Personally, I've always been in favor of solving problems as early as possible, but that doesn't seem to be Western civilization's mindset where the Muslim problem is concerned. I guess we can all just sit around and hope it's not our city that gets nuked, eh?

"So it's not exactly a scoop that Muslims are engaging in violence. A front-page story would be 'Offended Muslims Remain Calm.'"

That's just great stuff! I couldn't agree more.
