Obstruct Supply, Marvel at Price

Mac Johnson spells out the problem with our energy policy: delusional hippies.

Which brings us back to my preferred alternative energy source: burn the hippies. Solve two problems with one furnace. Probably a nasty pollutant, though.

(Hat-tip to Harry S.)

What Johnson is writing about is the not in my back yard syndrome that is prevalent in America. Drilling for oil is fine as long as it is far away (I personally have no problem drilling for oil in Anwar because its freaking Alaska, what the f*&# do I care about the "pristine" environment of Alaska? Its f#@%^%& cold there and I have no desire to visit a frozen tundra). But once we get close to home, and I'm sure I don't own any subsoil rights, its a different story. And burning hippies is a good start but I have heard that they give off a greasy odor and leave a resin that is illegal in 45 states of the union, so please not in my back yard.
