Public Enemy
I've been saying since this war started that we'll never win it until we acknowledge the real enemy. An abstract concept like "terrorism" cannot be a physical enemy. It is simply a manifestation of more basic cultural conflicts, the tool by which the enemy attacks.
Culture in the United States is embodied, for the most part, in secular social structures. In the Islamic world, however, politics, culture and religion are the same animal. The vast majority of Muslim states are object examples of why our Founders created the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and insisted upon a clear separation of political and religious powers.
Simple logic will lead you to one inescapable conclusion as to who the real enemy is in this war, and no amount of ostrich-like political behavior will change reality. We can deal with it now or later--but later will involve a lot more dead American civilians.
The enemy doesn't care whether you find him palatable as an enemy or not--he'll still kill you just as quickly, and just as dead.

Muslim Jihad’st are [w]ussies. The silence from the muslim religion as a whole make me conclude it’s a whole religion of nothing but [w]ussies. I’d love for a muslim to respond and explain how killing innocent civilians is manly but they will not. Why, read the first two sentences.
I have to agree on Bushes tactics. The best way to confront this idealism is to spread democracy and free speech in the middle east, you know giving the power to the people and not to the extremist. It hasn’t gone anywhere near smooth, but I’ve yet to hear anybody come up with a better idea. I sure which other Muslims would start speaking up, they can’t all possibly be that insane.
