Dwarfstar Games

The old Dwarfstar mini boardgames which I played as a child have been released for free download.

If you have a middle school-aged child, do him or her a favor: download and print out Barbarian Prince. It's a solo board game which I spent many, many delightful hours playing. In fact I found that, in many ways, I actually preferred it over the new Intellivision my parents had recently purchased.

Well, looks like I'm going to be burning some ink on the office engineering plotter at night, printing out the old maps and counter sets. Er, I mean...uh, taking them to Kinko's, of course. I'd never dream of using corporate property for non-work purposes, naturally.

A big ol' wet sloppy kiss to The Mad Builder of Periwinkle for sending this one along. (Metaphorically speaking, of course; he's not my type--or the right sex, for that matter. Besides, the Mad Angel would become jealous and foist much hurting upon my person.)

Oooo! Bet you could make a nice big ol' map of the lands of Prince Cal Arath on one of those wide roll plotters. :)

Hehe. Most welcome. I was going to put in on my blog but you beat me to it. So I'll substitue with some other gaming related stuff over there.

For those not familar with it, BP was NOT an easy game to win. The the replayability was very good too. Many a stormy afternoon in my youth was spent trying to recapture Cal's birthright.

In fact most of those MicroGames were really great games. A whole lot of good game development went into those little boxes. A fantastic value and I kick myself for throwing mine away in a cleaning fenzy.
