Road Rage Prevention

There are dozens of comments I could make about this article, but I'll limit myself to this: I completely agree with the Seattle Police on this issue, and think there should be much, much more of it nationwide. It's what the traffic police are supposed to be doing, instead of raising revenue for the state with pointless speeding tickets. One oblivious moron behind the wheel, who thinks he's so special he doesn't have to wait in line like everybody else, causes more chaos, hate and discontent than a thousand people speeding.

Now they just need to start ticketing for geezering--that's when someone is driving the speed limit or slower in the passing lane, forcing everyone to pass them on the right. Talk about creating chaos and inducing road rage...

I agree with ticketing the people that think they can run up and jump in line near the end. As indicated by some of the traffic research referenced in the article, I have always felt that the lines would not be as big or slow if there weren't all the line jumping going on in the front. Speaking of research, I want the name of the person in the passing lane of a three lane highway that has to be the person that first slows down every morning, and thus causes all lanes to run at the same speed with the passing lane sometimes being the slowest. It could be the devil in a rusty 1954 ford pickup or it could be that evil energy cloud from an old star trek show that grows stronger as everyone else grows angry and fights.
