A Nation of Pussies

Tropical Storm Nicholas missed Houston. You would not know it, however, by looking at the streets; there's nobody on them. I barely had to slow down on my way to work this morning. It seems that three-quarters of the population are hiding under their beds and chewing their fingernails in abject terror. There's a 20 kt breeze and light -- very light -- intermittent showers. I've taken long range patrols out in much worse weather than this. Hell, I've mowed the yard in worse weather than this.

The politicians and media have turned us from the country that rebelled against the most powerful empire on the planet and won two world wars into a bunch of simpering cowards who are afraid of their own shadows. It's fucking pathetic. People are terrified of a fucking cold (and trying to get immunized against it, which would be funny if it weren't so fucking sad) and lock themselves inside whenever the weather changes. People shoot texts back and forth saying "my power is out!" and "stay safe!" and "don't take the risk!". Well, I'm at fucking work, along with a small handful of others (two of whom are also former Marines, I might add). Everyone else can go fuck themselves -- though they probably lack the courage even for that.

I no longer recognize this nation. It's certainly not the same one I signed up to fight for in 1986. I can't imagine what it will be like in another 35 years. Hell, at this rate it may not exist in another 35 years. And maybe that's for the best.

Absolutely pathetic.

A frightened populace is a compliant populace. That is why Trump had to go away. On a personal level, I thought he was nothing more than a narcissistic blowhard, but still better than the harpy. He proved to be a narcissist, but savvy in showing Libs for what they really were. A bunch of elitist, power hungry, control freaks, who believe us serfs were getting above our station. They want us to shut up, do as were told, and take whatever scraps they deign to give us and be happy about it.
Case in point, NY Met gala. Harpy Jr. was there in her tone deaf dress, not wearing a mask. In fact the only people wearing masks...the help. The faceless, nameless peons being shown exactly what the Liberals think and want from them. Serve them.
