NEWS FLASH: Boot Camp = Not Fun

Dead, sir!

Twenty U.S. Marines could face punishment after a recruit's suicide led to a probe revealing a pattern of hazing and abuse at the Parris Island, S.C., base

At USMC boot camp? Hazing?! The Deuce you say!

Two investigations began after Raheel Siddiqui, 20, fell 40 feet to his death in a stairwell at the training center.

"Sir, the recruit fell down the stairs, sir!"

Marine Corps officials said Siddiqui arrived at Parris Island on March 7 and within a week expressed a desire to kill himself. He was interviewed by medical personnel and examined by a psychologist before he returned to training on March 18.

Pretty common. Most people just want to go home after a week in boot camp, but there are always a few weak-minded ones who are looking for the quick ticket.

Four days later, complaining of a sore throat, he was summoned by his drill instructor and was forced to run up and down a squad bay, a residence for the recruits. After falling to the floor he was verbally ordered to stand up by a drill instructor, then slapped several times, a violation of the Marines' recruit training order. Saddiqui then ran to one end of the squad bay, vaulted a railing and fell to his death.

He was a pussy. His psyche shattered under a little light slapping. I got body-slammed, punched, and yelled out incessantly during boot camp and infantry training school. Then I went to the Fleet Marine Force as a newly-minted private and it REALLY got nasty. Never once did it occur to me to jump down a fucking ladderwell, (which is the proper terminology, you fucking landlubbing civvie twats at UPI).

Twenty people within the unit could be punished for their participation in creating a toxic work environment which regularly ignored hazing and condoned poor leadership practices.

"A toxic work environment"?! FUCKING SERIOUSLY?! Do you sheltered little donkey cunts have any idea how "toxic" combat is? Of course not, because hard men wearing the uniforms of Marines make sure you don't have to.

The incident prompted debate over the way recruits are tested and trained, and whether Siddiqui's Muslim faith had any impact in his treatment.

I don't care which man in the sky he believed in, he was weak and he killed himself. End of story. If any lesson should come of the incident, it's this: Do not sign up for an elite fighting force if you're a weak-minded pussy and are going to kill yourself the first time you get sand in your mangina or some D.I. yells in your face and pops you on your metrosexual cock holster. Because boot camp is the easy part.

Do you think the Germans were checking to see what your religion was, or your ethnic background during the battle of Belleau wood? Do you think the Japanese were peeking over the sights of their machine guns to see if you were muslim or jew or christian, or of Japanese descent on Iwo Jima before pulling the trigger? Do you think that ISIS will go easier on you if you were yelled at and had your feelings hurt in boot camp? These kids are not training for a job at Starbucks, or the local organic grocer, they are training to point a gun at another human being and pull the trigger, or if it comes down to it, beat another human to death with the stock of said weapon. The purpose of boot camp is to instill discipline where previously there was none. Boot camp HAS to be hard and stressful, because if not, the weak willed will find himself in a combat situation and instead of reaching down and finding the courage, discipline, and the will to defend himself and his fellow Marine/Soldier, he will cower, and good people on our side will die.
Based off of this article, does this mean I can sue the media, our elected leaders, and the criminal element for "creating a toxic work environment"? No. I strap on the boots and go once more into the breach, because that is what I signed on for when I went into Law enforcement. When you join the military you join with the full knowledge you will suffer depradations and abuse at the hands of your instructors, so that you can withstand the onslaught from the enemy and repel them and be victorious and go home.
The sad part is, we are seeing the same thing in law enforcement. Our latest recruit class had 5 drop in the first week because it was hard ( IE: had to do push-ups and get yelled at) I'm not sure what they expected, but if anyone has watched COPS, you know that the bad guys aren't going to stop just because you told them to or your feelings got hurt because they called you a bad name.
