Free Speech or Fraud

If that pesky Ol' Constitution gets in the way, just change the verbiage

California congressmen wrote a letter to state attorney general Kamala Harris claiming the freedom of speech “is not designed to protect fraud and deceit” of the likes being spread by oil company ExxonMobil about global warming.

Nineteen Democratic lawmakers told Harris her “investigation as to whether ExxonMobil lied about the truth of climate change and misled investors does not constitute an effort to silence speech or scientific research.

Don't know where you fall on the "Global/Climate Change" stuff, but trying to force your opponent to keep quiet by making their speech and opinion "Fraud" is a new low. This is the same type of Flat Earth thinking that led to witch burnings and excomunications. Where is the Scientific method in all this? She has been gang raped, thrown out the door and a few dollars tossed after her to make the rapists feel like it was consensual.

Where is the peer review? Experimentaion, to prove your theory WRONG. That's right, you come up with a theory then spend three ways to Sunday trying to prove it wrong. If you can't then it must be true. That doesn't seem to cotton with the new Scientific method, which is, get a consensus, then spend your time demonizing anyone who has a desenting opinion, or tries to prove you wrong. I almost feel like we are on the edge of a new dark ages, when critical thought is mocked and mob mentality rules the day.
