Retro Tail Gunner

Like me, you probably assumed the video game Tail Gunner was invented in 1979. We would both be wrong. This was the first version, built in 1940:



It's called a Stephens Dome Trainer. Forty-three were built in England during World War II to aid in training machine gunners to track and shoot attacking aircraft. It was very possibly the first video game. Piclick for more info.

That looks fun as hell, add a bar you could make some real money. It reminds me of an old WWII Link trainer I saw in an office lobby once. I really wanted to hop in and give it a go. They had some really good VR back in the day.
