J-15 Trials

Carrier trials of the new Chinese J-15 fleet defense fighter aboard CNS Liaoning (CV-16). It is worth noting that this was originally the Admiral Kuznetzov, a Soviet vessel sold as scrap to the Chinese. The ChiComs have refitted her and are now much further along than the Soviet naval air program ever advanced. Is it up to the standards of a modern USN supercarrier? Not hardly. But the point is that a non-NATO navy has deployed a fleet carrier and put advanced fixed-wing fighters on it. That's never happened before. The Chinese are deadly serious about the arms race that we're just now beginning to realize we're in with them...
