Thursday Tunes

808 State was one of the very first "house" electronic bands, back before that term really even existed. Contemporary with the more mainstream group Enigma, they pushed out some truly unique stuff in the late '80s and early '90s. Today, the house/acid/techno music scene has degenerated into endless rips and re-re-re-mixes. It's drivel, quite honestly. But back in the good old days, there was great stuff like this lovely piece called Pacific State. It was a favorite at many a dance club during my youth, both in the States and abroad.
