Lies, lies, lies
Watch as Trey Gowdy (R-SC) repeatedly thumps IRS Commissioner Koskinen concerning his repeated lies and obfuscation. It seems Mr Koskinen doesn't like being grilled and bullied. Well, fuck him. Watching a career bureaucrat and IRS Chief Thief get a little taste of his own medicine is pure schadenfreude.

No, you arrogant little cocksucker, you were subpoenaed by the elected representatives of the people who pay for your fatcat retirement to explain the gross malfeasance during your tenure at the IRS. There are no games, here. I am very sincere in telling you that there are millions of people in this country who would like nothing more than to watch your bald little head roll into a basket. So drop the attitude and come clean, or you might just find yourself spending your retirement in a federal prison.
Today, Congress has subpoenaed a former IRS attorney to tesitify before the committee:
Which is a nice legal way of telling Eggleston: "Shut your mouth and send her to us or we'll throw you in jail, too."
I remain firm in my belief that all those "lost" emails point directly back to the White House General Counsel Office. Don't give up, House Republicans. They are standing in the spotlight and holding the bloody knife. The only way that the IRS and the Obama administration can weasel out of this one is if you let them do so. If that happens, you'll all be looking for new jobs come November, because We The People are out of patience with the whole lot of you.

"After Monday's session, [Koskinen] told reporters he did not come out of retirement 'to play games.'"

Today, Congress has subpoenaed a former IRS attorney to tesitify before the committee:
The committee sent a letter on June 19 asking for Jennifer O'Connor to appear at a hearing as part of its investigation into IRS targeting of conservative groups. O'Connor served from May to December 2013 as the counselor to then-IRS commissioner Daniel Werfel. Issa said her testimony was necessary because during that period she had a primary role in gathering the documents to be presented to the committee.
But O'Connor's boss, White House Counsel W. Neil Eggleston, initially responded by telling the committee that O’Connor’s testimony was not necessary because she left the IRS before the agency discovered that the emails were missing. "It thus appears that you and others in Congress are now receiving substantial information from those at the IRS most familiar with the discovery of, and investigation into, the computer failure,” Eggleston said in a letter. "This new information should address the questions that may have prompted your earlier hearing invitation to Ms. O'Connor."
That prompted the subpoena.
Which is a nice legal way of telling Eggleston: "Shut your mouth and send her to us or we'll throw you in jail, too."

What gets me is that Koskinen can sit there and act like losing 2 years of emails is no big deal.. a common occurrence at the IRS, he claims. "Nothing to see here, move on please."
Speaking as an IT professional, losing 2 years of email is considered GROSS INCOMPETENCE and there would be no question that it would result in IMMEDIATE TERMINATION in the private sector. No excuse would be acceptable for such a catastrophic failure. It's not like backing up email is a new concept - we've been doing it for decades now.
That crap about "Disaster Recovery" backups being difficult to access is complete bullshit. If it were so hard to restore that data, it wouldn't be very good for recovering from disasters now, would it? In fact, it is ideal for the type of "catastrophic HD failure" they claim that Lerner experienced (nothing like having a bulk eraser handy, eh?).
They can't recover the data because they don't WANT to recover the data, plain and simple.
