Easter Mexican

It's Easter Sunday. If you go to Google's front page today, you know who you'll see imbedded in the Google logo? No, not him. Cesar Chavez.

Look, I'm not even religious. The extent of my celebration of Easter is buying the leftover candy at a fifty percent discount. But Google has been increasingly using their market leverage to grind political axes, and I'm tired of it. I'll keep using Blogger simply due to inertia and the fact it's difficult and time-consuming to export eight years of posts. But my primary search engine? Not Google any more. I'll be using Bing and Yahoo now. I'll also begin the process of porting my primary webmail over to the Yahoo account, which actually predates the gmail account by several years.

Google absolutely have the right to toss their politics in my face, and I have the right to take my commerce elsewhere.

Funny. Most Mexican laborers are Christian fanatics. That said, YHOO stock has done nothing but skyrocket under Melissa Myers. To your point, she doesn't preach Global Warming then hypocritically pimp out a Boeing 767 so it only holds 18 people.

Its getting more and more challenging to determine lesser of evils these days. :/ I've pretty much given up. I've been using Bing more and more of late because I like the different search hits it provides. Its also a good interface, almost as clean as Google which I like. That's one thing that keeps me from going to Yahoo, Yahoo is soooooo cluttered it looks like the National Enquirer mated with People Magazine. Yahoo is for my Spam Email accounts.

What this should do though is provide an opportunity for more center and center-right folks (or hell, serious capitalist of any non-extreme political stripe) with the investment cash and the smarts to take advantage of decisions like these to compete for our custom with a equal or better products. They can't be lazy though, I'm not going to move to a markedly inferior product just because someone hangs out a sign and says "we're just like you."

Someone should talk the Koch Bros into guying Google. That would fix one big problem while providing the entertainment of watching so many lefty hipsters shit themselves in panic.
