Falling Rock Simulator
Impact Earth! is a website which allows you to create your own parameters for a meteor strike and see the results (mathematically, that is). It's kinda neat, but I found it of limited interest after running a few scenarios. The reason for this: You can't select the impact point. After all, it's not so much the size of your asteroid as how you use it. Mecca, for example, would look quite lovely in a crater. Perhaps San Francisco as well. See how that piques your interest more than just "rock hits planet"? Location, location, location.

An interesting (and timely) little gadget...but I can see right away why it leaves one unsatisfied. No Boom! No graphic of the big 'splosion, complete with crater and ejecta. Now THAT is the version I want to play with.
BTW...all of my meteorites appear to land on Maine or New Jersey...anyone else?
