Thursday Tunes

Another submitted song this week. This is Monte Montgomery with "First and Repair."

While it's reminiscent of the big '70s country rock bands, these guys have a flavor all their own. I rather like it -- which is quite a statement, since I shy away from anything remotely smelling of country music which was composed after 1979. I think what does it for me is the undertone of Led Zeppelin. Seriously. I know that sounds like the old Jarhead has finally fallen off his rocker, but listen carefully to the vocal patterns and the backup strings.

Really. I'm not crazy. Am I?

Hat-tip to Derek M.
