It was only a matter of time before the liberal media outlets started into a massive meltdown. The constant pressure of trying to cover for Dumbo is causing their thin veneer of quasi-intellectualism to begin to crack.

James Taranto sums it up in a WSJ article:

Obama's journalistic supporters live in a bizarre alternate reality in which a politician's actual words mean nothing. When the president says something foolish and offensive, he didn't say that. Meanwhile every comment from a Republican can be translated, through a process of free association, to: "We don't like black people."

The overriding need to avoid talking about the huge elephant donkey in the living room is starting to wear on them. I get the distinct feeling that Americans are getting very tired of the little boy who cried "racism!" I know I am.
