Dumb and Dumber pull a heist. Here is the text conversation between two teenagers who robbed two old ladies on their way back from the grocery store:

Idiot #1: Yo how bout my mom just saw me on the news on a scooter robbing 2 old ladies and there opening an investigation...Bro wtf!

Idiot #2: Yo you were guna be going to newyork very soon n----- u gota stay far away from police bruh and another thin if either of us get arrested don't say s--- bout me and I Wont say s--- bout u either and delete all those texts that have anything to with it rite now

Idiot #1: Already did

Or not. The police executed a search warrant on the phone of Idiot #1 -- a.k.a., Adam Bardisa -- and used the resulting evidence of the "deleted" texts to toss them both into the can.

In any reasonable society, nineteen-year old boys who rob octogenarians would be strung up by their necks in the town square. Unfortunately, our society ceased being reasonable many decades in the past.
