Ouddatowners

Posting from me will be light this week. The missus and I are joining my parents to spend a couple of days in Fredericksburg, where we shall enjoy touring the National Museum of the Pacific War and indulge ourselves in the consumption of mass quantities of German food. Note that by "light" I mean "non-existent."

We were there last September (2011) with a friend and his Marine Corp reunion he was putting on for his father's unit. His father's plaque was dedicated along with one for the unit, which was 3rd Division, Company K, 9th Regiment, and is on one of the walls there. I can't find the units plaque on the museum website, but his father's is at this link. It was a very enjoyable event and meant a great deal to myself and my family to get to meet men that fought in the Pacific.

The Curmudgeon's Spouse's Grandfather fought in the Pacific, on Iwo Jima. Sadly, Donald Courtney is no longer with us.
The Curmudgeon's Grandfather, Charles Turner, was a SeaBee in the Pacific from early on, before they were trained with weapons. Sadly, he also is no longer with us.
