Woodless Linda
Deadwood:
The larch, you say?
As to Ms McCartney's wood... Well, here's a little quote. To put this in context for you, Ms McCartney was a vegetarian and very outspoken member of PETA. She was diagnosed with cancer in 1995:
"Difficult," but hypocrisy apparently ruled the day, eh? That's the Left for you: they have solidly-held and very heartfelt core principles... right up until their own necks are on the line. Compare with the people in the military and police forces who risk their lives to defend this country and ALL of its citizens every single day because they believe in it. They understand that principles and moral values are more important than any one person's life. Ms McCartney liked to loudly claim ownership of a very large patch of that moral high ground -- until she was put in the hot seat, then her "principles" got kicked out with the trash, no doubt in a hand-wringing fit of rationalization.
Fuck her memory and her dead forest.
When hundreds of trees were planted in remembrance of Linda McCartney, it was hoped that they would grow to be a living and lasting memorial to the first wife of Sir Paul McCartney.
Now, however, all the larch trees in Linda’s Wood have had to be chopped down because of a deadly disease sweeping the country.

Talking later about the medication used to treat her breast cancer, [husband Paul] McCartney said: "If a drug has got to be used on humans then legally it has to be finally tested on an animal ... This was difficult for Linda when she was undergoing her treatment."
